Guided Reading Baggies and Homework

Guided Reading & Homework
Reading baggies will come home Monday-Thursday.  Students will have either a sentence to assemble, write and illustrate in their sentence book, or a book to read to you,  PLEASE, PLEASE make sure this gets done every night.  It shouldn't take very long. It is very hard to teach lessons, when sentence books and baggies are missing or when students do not have their books. Students are responsible to do the work themselves.  THEY are the ones learning, so THEY need to do the work.  If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Strobel, Mrs. Davis or Miss Patty for clarification.  We would be happy to hep you.  Below are a few awesome examples!

Sentence comes in an envelope!!! Do not draw or write on envelope, PLEASE send back in guided reading baggie.  We reuse!!

This is the sentence.  It is on paper, students have a glue stick in their baggie.  Please have your child place the sentence in order.  Then glue it down in order on the paper.  See Below.

Sentence is stuck down.  Then the student needs to write the sentence below.  Student should also illustrate the sentence in the box above.

If there's just a book in the Reading Baggie.  Please have you child read the book to you. You will need to be near them so that they practice reading the book correctly.  Please do not have them read to pets, infant siblings, or you while you are making dinner.  It is a huge challenge to teach children to read when they are practicing the words incorrectly.  PLEASE sit beside your child and have them point to each word.
